John James Beattie was born in September 1911 in Carlisle, Cumbria. His Mother's maiden names was McIndoe.


Previously worked on a farm and then worked at 'Mossband' which we believe was a munitions factory near Gretna, Scotland.


John died in October 1979 at the age of 68.
