William Henry Temple was born in Leeds, Yorkshire in July 1919.


He enlisted in August 1937 at Catterick Camp and was 5 fott 9 3/4 inches, weighed 158lbs and had blue eyes and black hair,


He served with the BEF (at rank of L/Cpl) from October 1939 to April 1940.


He married Phyllis Wetherall in October 1940 in Surrey.


William was living in Leeds in September 1948 when his medals were awarded. He finished his service at the rank of Sergeant.
