Pte G.R. Savage

George Ross Savage was born in July 1923 in Kimberley, Notts. Before the War, he was an Engine Driver (Compressor)


He enlisted in June 1942 at Centre 53, Nottingham and, after serving with 1st Highland Regt for a while, was posted to 1st KOSB in early 1943. On enlistment he was 5 fott 5.5 inches, weighed 141.5lbs and had hazel eyes and light brown hair.


He married Doreen McLaren in September 1945 in Galashiels.


In 1946 James attended Dog Training School and was posted to 4th Dog Section of the DTS.
