HIS STORY
In April 1944, during Exercise HANDS UP, he was OC of the troop train that took the Carrier and Pioneer Platoons and their vehicles from Galashiels to Fareham, 11–12 April.
Details lead us to believe that Capt. Sanderson was pulled out of the way of further incoming fire by Pvt. Alexander Douglas
At the time of claiming his medals in Aug 1951, he was listed as living in Argentina. He finished his career as a Lieutenant in KOSB.

Further consolidation was carried out.
During the day spasmodic M.G. fire and enemy mortar fire occurred. There was also still some enemy snipers active.
Capt Roynon-Jones (2 i/c B Company) with two O.Rs went out on patrol into enemy lines but failed to return. *His death is officially recorded as the 11th June 1944. As both are buried close to each other in Ryes War Cemetery, there is a chance that Private Cecil Selby was one of the OR (other ranks) who went on patrol with him.
