As this website started out with only some raw data and old photos of Richard's Grandad, David Morrison, there is a strong leaning towards the Pipes and Drums.

​"For the Pipes and Drums, June 1945 was an extremely busy month and their services were much in demand. They played "Retreat" twice for the benefit of the Americans early in the month; they went to 1st Corps Club for a week-end to entertain the men on short leave there; they played in several displaced person camps where they were extremely popular, and the Pipe Major was presented with many bouquets of flowers; they played "Retreat" three times in Recklinghausen and were watched by large crowds of Germans, and lastly they went to Tactical H.Q. of 21st Army Group to play at a party which the Field-Marshal gave to the British Members of the Allied Control Commission".
