Alternative Information (from books, personal accounts)

"This was Minden Day. The traditional red roses were somehow produced by the indefatigable Quartermaster and were worn on our bonnets. During the afternoon the Pipes and Drums played Retreat. The Borderers, despite their battering, were still very much alive and ready to give a good account of themselves".
