Sjt Joseph Cowen

Joseph Cowen was born in March 1908 in York.


He enlisted in the West Yorkshire Regiment (5th Bttn) in May 1926 and was transferred to KOSB in Feb 1930. At the time of enlisting he was living in the 'Little Shambles' in York.


He married Florence Johnson in York in July 1938.


Joseph Cowen was living in York when his medals were awarded - July 1948. (There are no houses there now, it is an industrial Estate)
