Pte R. Stark

Robert Stark was born in Glasgow in September 1916.


Before the War, his trade is listed as 'Barman'.


He enlisted at the Berwick on Tweed barracks in March 1940. He was 5 foot 2.5 inches and weighed 111lbs. He had blue eyes and brown hair.


He married Jeanie Morrison in September 1940 in Glasgow.


Robert attended a Sniper Course in Jan-Feb 1943 at the Divisional Battle Training School.


After being wounded in Normandy he arrived back in the UK on the 10th June 1944. He re-joined his unit in August of that year.


He sustained 'accidental injuries' to his eyes and nose in 1945 and, after recovering, was posted to 4th KOSB.


He finished his service with the BAOR in Feb 1946.
