Awaiting photo
Rheinberg War Cemetery lies on the edge of Rheinberg in North Rhine-Westphalia, about 85 km north of Cologne. In April 1946 the Army Graves Service chose the site to bring together Commonwealth graves from across the region, including some 450 from Cologne. Most of those buried here are airmen. Most of the soldiers among them died in the Battle of the Rhineland or in the advance from the Rhine to the Elbe. In all, 3,330 Commonwealth servicemen of the Second World War are buried or commemorated here, 158 of them unidentified.
