GLASNEVIN (OR PROSPECT) CEMETERY

Awaiting photo
Glasnevin Cemetery lies north of Dublin city centre. It opened in 1832 as a burial ground for people of every faith, largely through the efforts of Daniel O'Connell. Ireland's national cemetery now covers about 50 hectares, and a round tower some 50 metres high stands over O'Connell's tomb. It contains 174 Commonwealth war graves of the First World War and 41 of the Second World War.
