James Scott was previously Wounded in Normandy on the 7th of June. He has a wound page on the 1st KOSB in Normandy site here
James was Mentioned in Dispatches and a notice appeared in The London Gazette in November 1945. (The same issue as one of our Special Mentions, Capt Dorrity - when he was serving with The Cameronians)

At the time of receiving his medals in 1948, James was living in Edinburgh.

In the early morning 8 Bde cleared the remainder of the wood on our right thus closing our right flank.
During the afternoon 185 Bde passed through and secured a foot hold over the Muhlen Fleuth in the area 970390 and the approaches to KERVENHEIM.
At about 1700 hrs the 2 Lincolns under command 185 Bde passed through and attacked KERVENHEIM and eventually managed to penetrate nearly halfway into the town.
