HIS STORY
David Mitchell Speed Imrie was an unpaid Lance Corporal when he was wounded. There was no action recorded in the War Diary for the 18th of August so it is more likely he was wounded in the attack on Tinchebray two days earlier.
In the C Company reorganisation, November 1944, he was posted to 12 Platoon, B Company.
He was awarded a Commander-in-Chief's Certificate and a G.O.C.'s Commendation Card in August 1945. (Borderers' Chronicle, September 1945, p.110)
He served in Palestine after the War.
