Sergeant Edward Roger Fleming Hutcheson, known as 'Hutch', was posted to 10 Platoon, B Company, in the C Company reorganisation of November 1944.

He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in January 1945. (War Diary, 9 January 1945)

He was Mentioned in Despatches, repeated in the April 1945 list, and is also named in D Company's own list of Mentions. (Borderers' Chronicle, June 1945, pp.56, 58, 64)

Later in 1945 he was warmly welcomed as a new Platoon Commander, and then went to take charge of the Pioneer Platoon. (Borderers' Chronicle, September 1945, p.112)
