Recce for Coy and Pl Comds of area South of VEULEN for the attack. Preparations made for the attack in which 2 LINCS were also to participate, pushing forward due East of their posns in VEULEN supported by Churchill tanks. During the hours of darkness the VEULEN area was heavily shelled by enemy guns, some of them firing from a considerable distance away. Patrols of 2 LINCS reported enemy still in posn up till 2000 hrs, but at 2400 hrs reported no sign of enemy.
