MIERLO WAR CEMETERY

Awaiting photo
Mierlo War Cemetery lies in the village of Mierlo in North Brabant, about 12 km east of Eindhoven. It was begun in the spring of 1945, when graves were brought in from the surrounding area. Most of those buried here fell between September and November 1944, in the fighting to clear the land south and west of the Maas and to open the Scheldt estuary. The cemetery holds 664 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, seven of them unidentified, and one Dutch war grave.
