Alternative Information (from books, personal accounts)
The Battalion moved on the 30th to the new area and took over from the 137th U.S. Infantry Regiment.
Our main tasks in the new area are the guarding of allied ex-prisoners of war and displaced persons and keeping order in the area generally. This is a strenuous business and about 60 to 70 per cent. of the Battalion are on duty all day and night.
