GROESBEEK MEMORIAL

Awaiting photo
The Groesbeek Memorial stands within Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, about 10 km south-east of Nijmegen. It records by name more than 1,000 Commonwealth soldiers who died in the north-west Europe campaign and have no known grave. They died between late August 1944 and the end of the war in Europe. The memorial and the surrounding cemetery were designed by Philip Hepworth. Most of the cemetery's burials are Canadians who fell in the Battle of the Rhineland in February and March 1945.
