HIS STORY
Douglas Gillon was born in 1925 in Dumfries, Scotland.
No. 4 Commando conducted raids on Schouwen-Duiveland from November 1944 until March 1945, with the specific objective to prevent enemy infiltration and sabotage against the estimated 5,000-man German garrison.
January 1945 - No 4 Commando were involved in operations in Holland on the island of Schouwen accompanied by 1 troop of No 10 Commando.
