HIS STORY

James Walsh was born in 1911 in Ireland. Prior to the War he lived in Glasgow.

He was reported wounded on the 16th July 1944 but there is a pencil entry on the list stating: "Casualty List No. 1529. Handwritten note "Missing believed Prisoner of War. C.L. 1602/33".

He died on the 22nd October 1944 in Holland. His Findagrave entry (translated from Dutch) states: After heavy fighting near Holthees, he was initially reported missing and possibly as a prisoner of war. His temporary grave was found in Holthees in August 1944 and his remains were transferred to the Jonkerbosch provisional military cemetery. After the war he was given his final resting place at the Jonkerbos War Cemetery.
