Pte W.R. Millar

William Robert Millar was born in Blackburn, West Lothian in July 1916.


He enlisted at Berwick on Tweed in March 1940 and was 5 foot 9 and weighed 147lbs.


He married Marion McAllister in April 1942.


After he was wounded in Normandy, he stayed in the UK until being posted back to NWE in March 1945.


Pte Millar is one of the signatures on the 50 Franc Note signed by member of 1st KOSB Signals the night before D-Day. You can read more about it here.
