Ronald Edward Laurie was born in 1911 in Glencairn. His Mother's maiden name was Campbell.

He had an entry in the London Gazette on the 15 March 1940.

He married Rosemary L Fullerton in July 1941 in Newcastle.

He died in October 1952 in Newcastle upon Tyne, at the age of 41
