Further consolidation was carried out.


During the day spasmodic M.G. fire and enemy mortar fire occurred. There was also still some enemy snipers active.


Capt Roynon-Jones (2 i/c B Company) with two O.Rs went out on patrol into enemy lines but failed to return. *His death is officially recorded as the 11th June 1944. As both are buried close to each other in Ryes War Cemetery, there is a chance that Private Cecil Selby was one of the OR (other ranks) who went on patrol with him.
