Cpl B. M. Barden

Bertie Mortimer Barden was born in October 1919 in Malling, a district of Kent. His Mother's maiden name was Payne.


He was wounded previously whilst serving with The 6th Bttn, Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment in North Africa. (January 1943). His rank at that time is listed as U/L/Sjt.


His wounds in Normandy may have been caused whilst on patrol in the Cambes area.


After the War, he married Elsie E Simmons in Tonbridge, Kent - January 1947.


He died in December 1983 in Sevenoaks, Kent.
