Pte W. Dove

William Dove was born in December 1917 in Leith, Lothian.


Before the War he was a Warehouseman.


He enlisted in January 1940 and was originally posted to the 5th KOSB. At time of enlistment he was 5 foot 3.5 inches and weighed 123lbs. His eyes were blue and hair is 'fair'.


William fought with the BEF between the 12th and 17th June 1940 still the 5th KOSB.


He joined 1st KOSB in May 1943.


He married Janet Hunter in June 1945.


From August 1945 to March 1946 he served in the MEF (Middle East Front).
