L/Sjt Donald Ferguson

Donald Ferguson was born in September 1919 in Maidenhead, England.


Before the War he was a Farm Worker.


He enlisted in June 1938 and was posted to 1st KOSB in the November of that year. He served with the BEF from 3rd October 1939 to the 31st May 1940.


After his wounds in Normandy he was returned to the UK. He was posted back to his unit August 1944.


He married Violet Elsie Irene Wakelin in April 1943 in Maidenhead.


Rank listed as 'U/A/L/Sjt' on official casualty document. Full Sergeant when he was discharged from the Army in May 1946.


At the time his medals were awarded (Sept 1949) he was living in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
