William Renwick was born in Dumfries, Scotland in October 1920.
He enlisted in November 1937 and was 5 foot 8.5 inches and weighed 131lbs. His eyes and hair are described as brown. (His waist was 29" and his boot size was size 8).
He originally joined 5th KOSB for training. He joined the 1st KOSB in August 1940. *It looks like he was part of the BEF in May 1940.
During his service he passed his test to drive military personnel vehicles including ATS. He also passed his Sniper Course in November 1942.
He married Elizabeth Jean Burns in April 1944.
William transferred to the Pioneer Corps in April 1945 and was discharged in May 1946.
