Frederick McLaren Meggit was born in December 1914.


He was mentioned in the London Gazette in October 1945 upon receiving the Military Medal.


He was discharged from the Army in April 1946.


He was living in Barnsley, Yorkshire at the time his medals were awarded in August 1948.


He died in August 2005 and is buried in Wellington, New Zealand with his wife, Nellie.
