John Warne Jolly was born in December 1924 in Guernsey, Channel Islands.
He enlisted in November 1943 and was first posted to The Hampshire Regiment (he lived in Brockenhurst, Hampshire at the time). He was 5 foot 10/5 inches and weighed 138.5lbs. His eyes were blue and hair is described as dark brown. His trade was listed as Tractor Driver.
He was transferred to 1st KOSB on the 11th of June 1944. After being wounded in Normandy he spent 4 months at 'home' then is marked as RXKLJ (potentially working on railway trucks) before being posted back to the 1stKOSB and going to the MEF (Middle East).
He was living in Lymington, Hants when his medals were awarded in October 1948.
He died in December 2006 at the age of 82.
