Arthur Vincent Looker was born on April 1923 in Durham.
Before the War he was a wages clerk in a colliery.
He enlisted in April 1942 and was 5 foot 6 and weighed 122.5lbs. His eyes and hair are described as brown.
He was transferred to the KOSB in August 1942.
He served in Normandy and through Europe into Germany, eventually helping repatriate those that had been made refugees by war.
He married Doreen Middleton in March 1945.
He was discharged from the Army in June 1947 as a Sergeant.
He wrote a book on his time in the 1st KOSB called, In at the Deep End and has a special mention page here
Arthur died in 2016 at the age of 92 in Melrose.
